Morristown, N.J. (February 7, 2017) – Naveira Paulino, '18, global studies, political science, Spanish, is studying across the "pond" at Wroxton College this semester.

Wroxton in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, is the overseas campus of SEU's neighbor, Fairleigh Dickinson University. SEU has an articulation agreement with Fairleigh that allows SEU students to study there and earn SEU credits.

Naveira, of Clifton, N.J., is very excited to travel abroad, especially to Wroxton which is about an hour north of London, a train ride from Paris, France, and an easy journey to Wales, Ireland, and Scotland. While there, she will have the opportunity to visit Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and some of the many castles amid the serene countryside.

Her courses will be British government and politics, global perspectives, and media and modern Britain.

"All my professors were so helpful with my application," she says. "My GPA and transcripts, listing of extracurricular activities as well as an essay were required with the application. For the essay, I focused on my service learning experiences."

Her activities on campus include working in the admission office, serving as a student ambassador, and chairing annual events for the Campus Activities Board (CAB). She also participates in fundraisers off campus such as Relay for Life and March of Dimes events.

Her inspiration is her mother, who, five years ago, built a school in the Dominican Republic for the impoverished children.

"My mom is selfless," she says. "When we would travel to the DR for family vacations, my mom would always bring food and clothing for those in need."

Assisting her mother to build the school inspired Naveira to chart her future. Naveira wants to eventually work for the United Nations with UNICEF. She feels that her study abroad experience will give her knowledge of a different government, knowledge that she will need for working in other countries.

"I am excited about Wroxton," she exclaims.

She will be studying there through mid-May.
