Morristown, N.J. (April 13, 2021) – Saint Elizabeth University is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Clark Bartlett, Ph.D., currently dean of the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at University of Washington – Tacoma (UWT), as vice president for Academic Affairs. Bartlett's appointment is effective July 1, 2021. She replaces Joseph Ciccone, Ed.D., who has served as interim vice president since March 2020.

Prior to joining UWT in 2016, Bartlett served four years as Special Assistant to the Provost for Innovation and Academic Planning at DePaul University, where she also was a professor of English from 1993 to 2016. Her scholarly expertise is on religious and secular texts exploring the role of women in the socio-political structure of Medieval England.

"We are excited to have Dr. Bartlett join the Saint Elizabeth University community. Her background and expertise as an administrator, educator and author, along with her Vincentian roots, make her an excellent fit for SEU's mission of leadership in service to others started by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth more than 121 years ago," said Helen J. Streubert, Ed.D., president of Saint Elizabeth University.

A 2011-2012 American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow placed at Portland State University, Bartlett remains active on the ACE Council of Fellows Advisory Board, as well as in organizations such as the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences (CCAS) and the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).

Bartlett holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa and B.A. in English (summa cum laude) from SUNY College at Geneseo.
