group of class agents at SEU

Different decades. One family.

Class agents are deeply passionate alumni, committed to preserving the legacy of Saint Elizabeth University. Each class typically has one or more agents who work diligently to cultivate class spirit, reconnect classmates who may have lost touch with the University, and encourage participation in giving back to SEU. These individuals proudly represent their class years and routinely advocate for the success of the University.

What do class agents do?

  • Get in touch with fellow classmates in a manner that suits you best (be it phone calls, emails, social media, or texting) using information SEU has provided
  • Strengthen connections among classmates and ask friends to reach out to other friends you may not know
  • Track down "lost classmates" - and help reconnect them with their class year and the University
  • Encourage classmates to update their information
  • Notify the Advancement team when you learn about a deceased classmate
  • Promote engagement with the University's social media platforms
  • Lead by example - in SEU pride, in countering negativity and focusing on positive change at the University
  • Encourage participation in class giving
  • Say thank you!

With a thriving community of more than 11,000 alumni stretching back to the 1940s, there are a lot of opportunities for engagement. Right now, we are in great need of class agents from the following years: 1949, 1950, 1952, 1962, 1963, 1966, 1971, 1972, 1979, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1991, 1993, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2019, 2020, 2021.

How does SEU’s advancement team support Class Agents?

Class Giving Totals

As class agents, you’re able to connect with your classmates in a special way. To support your efforts, SEU’s advancement team will be available by phone or email to answer questions. In addition to offering support however possible, SEU’s advancement team will provide pre-printed notecards (as well as stamps) to make saying "thank you" easier, update our alumni database with information provided by class agents and forward any relevant materials to the Alumni Relations team and recruit class agents to ensure all years are represented.

Additionally, our team will maintain class giving lists and track overall alumni participation so that we can work together to reach our goal of 12% alumni participation in giving to SEU’s Annual Fund. Class agents are leaders in their classes and liaisons with the Advancement team at SEU. Thank you for volunteering and sharing your SEU pride!

To contact our team, please email us at lnovotny@steu.edu or call (973) 290-4415.
