SEU student holding a laptop

Starting Fall 2021

The purpose of Saint Elizabeth University's Laptop Rental Program is to provide a laptop to every member of the learning community to enable everyone to communicate and access learning materials “any time, any place.”

Starting in the the fall semester of 2021, SEU is implementing a Laptop Rental Program that will provide our students with the tools that will help them be successful throughout their undergraduate educational journey.

Why a University-issued Laptop

Standardizing the laptop used by both faculty and students contributes to a consistency of experience when utilizing technology both in and out of the classroom.

Advantages

Economy

The University annually purchases a significant number of laptops, taking advantage of the lower pricing per unit such quantities provide and negotiating the best laptop for the lowest cost.

Ease of Use

Each incoming class receives training on the same laptop, reducing the learning curve for each student while ensuring a shared experience.

Streamlined Support

Next day, on-site support, will be available from the vendor. A loaner laptop will be available to the students if the repair is going to take more than one day.

Participation

Starting in the fall semester of 2021, all full-time, first-time traditional undergraduate freshmen students at SEU will be required to participate in the Laptop Rental Program unless they have their own laptop that meets the University’s IT requirements.

Incoming freshmen who have personal laptops that meet the requirements can formally opt out of the Laptop Program. Full-time sophomores, juniors and seniors will be able to rent a laptop if they wish to use a University-sponsored laptop.

Participants will be asked to follow the terms and conditions of the program.
