Department of Art, Dance and Music

Do you want to establish a career in the visual arts? Graduates from the Art Department work as studio artists, graphic/digital designers, creative leads, interior designers, museum and gallery personnel, educators and more!

Due to Saint Elizabeth's small class sizes, each student is able to receive one-on-one instruction from our professors who are practicing and exhibiting artists, curators, writers and art historians. With access to exhibitions in the Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery and frequent class visits to top New York and nearby art museums and galleries, even the most inexperienced student will leave Saint Elizabeth with the skills necessary to become a professional in the art world.

The Art Department initially favors innovative ideas, creativity and self-expression over technical form. This means students are encouraged to hone their abilities at their own pace, gradually improving as they advance through the program. They will develop a fundamental understanding of practical studio arts and creative technologies, which are essential for today's imaginative world.
