Like all other SEU students, Honors Students are expected to take at least 1 course to satisfy EACH of the 9 General Education Outcomes.

However, for Honors Students, 6 of the 9 outcomes MUST be satisfied with HONORS courses.

The 9 General Education Outcomes:

Six of the above OUTCOMES must be filled with Honors Courses for Students in the Honors Program.

Students can consult Self-Service as well as online SEU resources to identify General Education Courses and their aligned outcomes.

Honors Courses will be identified by Outcome and as HNRS in Self-Service. The Honors Website will also provide a list of Honors courses running every academic year.

Honors Independent Research Project and Presentation

In addition to these 9 courses, all Honors Students must complete an original 20–25-page Independent Research Project and Presentation by April of their Senior Year. Honors students will register for this project as an Independent Study no later than spring of their Senior year and can take for 0-4 credits.

Summary of Honors Requirements

To graduate having fulfilled the requirements of the Honors Program, Honors students must take 1 course for each of the 9 outcomes AND 6 of those courses must be HONORS. In addition, Honors Students must complete an Independent Research Project and Presentation before the end of their Senior Year.
