**Inclement Weather Plan
The University is committed to ensuring that all graduating students and their guests
may participate fully and safely in the 2026 Commencement ceremony.
In the event of rain (without lightning), Commencement will take place as scheduled
on the Front Lawn of the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse. Ponchos will be available
and small (travel-sized umbrellas) will be allowed
If there is the potential for lightning on Commencement Day, the University has adapted a Commencement Lightning Plan (described below) should the need arise.
Commencement Lightning Plan
If lightning storms are predicted, a message will be sent to students, faculty and staff via the LiveSafe app before 7AM on Friday, May 15th, the day of Commencement. (Students should ensure that they have LiveSafe installed on their phones and that any notifications sent through LiveSafe can be communicated to their guests.)
The Commencement will take place as scheduled at 10AM in Dolan Hall, in the Annunciation
Center. The Annunciation Center is where graduates should proceed to check in and
line up by 8:30am on that day, and guests should go there to check in, as well. Faculty
attending Commencement should also check in at the Annunciation Center.
Each graduating student is receiving 6 tickets at the Grad Fair of which 2 will be
stamped to be used for the seating of two guests in Dolan Hall in the event the lightening
plan is activated.
Additional ticketed guests may watch the Commencement livestream in the Student Success
Center and in Rainis Auditorium.
