He has a background in clinical psychology and specializes in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Ericksonian hypnotherapy. He is known for his work in areas such as stress management, anxiety, depression, and performance enhancement. He has run clinical supervision at his private practice since 2012.
Dr Shipon specializes in brief therapy techniques and teaching self-hypnosis, and has created programs aimed at helping individuals harness the power of their minds to improve their mental health and well-being. Additionally, he has been involved in educational and clinical work, offering workshops and seminars on mental health topics.
Dr Shipon directs a group private practice focusing on adults, and works as an evaluating regional psychologist for a government organization supporting people with developmental disabilities since 2006.
Dr Shipon’s experience in supervision is what drew him to the Assistant Director of Clinical Training role, and he regularly expresses his admiration of what he learns from his students who are in their various placements.
He graduated from The College of New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He also received his master’s in human services counseling there. He graduated from the APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program at Temple University and completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital.
