Acceptable documents include:

• Passport with international address shown
• Statement of address
• Document from outside source showing home address (state issued identification card, school transcripts, utility bill, etc.)

Student must reside in on-campus housing or secure off-campus accommodations.

For on-campus housing, the student must submit a $100 housing deposit and roommate survey, as well as completed health forms prior to arrival.

For off-campus accommodations, the student may live with a sponsor or secure their own housing.

• For student-secured housing, acceptable documentation includes: a) state-issued identification card; b) utility bill in student’s name; and, c) copy of lease agreement
• For sponsor-provided housing, acceptable documentation includes a letter from sponsor stating that the student lives with them OR this affidavit - accompanied by sponsor's proof of address such as driver's license or lease agreement, bill, etc.

You should budget at least 10% more than the annual cost. You should also expect an annual 5% increase in tuition and cost of living.

U.S. law requires proof that you can support your estimated annual costs for EACH YEAR of your program of study. (A bachelor's degree requires four years of full-time study and a master's degree requires two to three years of study.) In order to do this you must show that you have: a) cash to cover your first year in the United States; and, b) sufficient and dependable financial resources to cover every additional year.

Below are the ways in which you may financially support your education. Your financial support can come from any combination of the sources explained below.

• Personal Funds
  These funds come only from your own income and resources. These are not funds given to you by another person.
  • Bank Statements
    These must be in your name only, and must state the date that the account was opened, the current balance in U.S. dollars, average deposits and average balances.
  • Employment Letter Certifying Salary
    This applies only if you will be in the U.S. on authorized employment or will continue to be paid by your home country employer while you are a student.
  • Statement of Liquid Investments
    Excluding real estate and other fixed assets
• Funds from Saint Elizabeth University
  These funds can be scholarships or, for members of special programs or Religious Communities, tuition reduction. If you have been informed that you are eligible for a scholarship or tuition discount from Saint Elizabeth University, you will not have to include that amount in your cost of attendance.
  
  Provide us with a copy of your scholarship award letter or a statement of your membership in associated religious community.
• Funds from Sponsors
  Sponsors can be anyone, such as your parents, other relatives, friends, or an organization. You may have as many sponsors as needed. It is highly recommended that at least part of your financial support come from your home country. Otherwise, obtaining a visa may prove difficult. A sponsor should promise ONLY as much money as they are able to provide. A sponsor may provide you with support in the form of cash and/or free room and board. Free room and board is when you live with someone and don't have to pay or work for your housing or food.
  • Free Room and Board from a Sponsor:
    • Affidavit of Free Room and Board
      This form must be fully completed and signed in the presence of a notary public.
    • Photocopy of lease, deed, or rent receipts in sponsor's name
    • Proof of Income
      This can be shown in the following ways: letter from employer on letterhead, income tax returns or receipts, three recent paystubs, or an estimate by a bank or private accountant if the sponsor is self-employed.
  • Each sponsor providing cash support must provide all of the following documents to prove financial responsibility:
    • Affidavit of Annual Financial Support
      This form may be photocopied for each sponsor. All questions must be answered. Affidavits must be signed by the sponsor in the presence of a notary public. A notary is an official licensed by the national or regional government to take sworn statements for courts of law, or to witness contracts and property deeds.
    • Proof of Income
      This can be shown in the following ways: letter from employer on letterhead, income tax returns or receipts, three recent paystubs, or an estimate by a bank or private accountant if the sponsor is self-employed.
    • Bank Statements
      These must be in the sponsor's name only, and must state the date the account was opened, the current balance in U.S. dollars, the average deposits and the average balances.

The TOEFL (www.toefl.org) or IELTS (www.ielts.org)is required for students whose first language is not English. Contact TOEFL or IELTS and request that an official copy of your test scores are sent directly to SEU (School code: 2090).

• TOEFL IBT: Undergraduate: 61 or higher; Graduate: 79 or higher
• IELTS: Undergraduate: 4.5 or higher; Graduate: 6 or higher

Other acceptable documentation includes:

• Two or more years of instruction at a high school or college where English is the primary language
• Full-time enrollment status within the last five years in the U.S., United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or other English medium universities in Canada or South Africa.
