Hanukkah Wish 2025

Hanukkah Wish 2025

December 15, 2025

HanukkahDear Saint Elizabeth University Community,

As Hanukkah begins, I extend my warmest wishes to all who observe the Festival of Lights. This sacred season calls us to reflect on hope, resilience, and the enduring belief that light can and must prevail over darkness, especially in moments when our hearts are heavy.

In the wake of yesterday’s tragic shooting, many in our community may be experiencing grief, fear, or deep concern. At times like these, Hanukkah’s message feels especially profound. It reminds us of the strength found in faith, the power of community, and our shared responsibility to care for one another with compassion and understanding.

Hanukkah is a time to honor resilience, remember miracles, and draw comfort from tradition and togetherness. As we gather with loved ones and light the menorah each evening, may we also reaffirm our commitment to kindness, dignity, and the safety and well-being of every member of our University community.

Saint Elizabeth University is strengthened by its diversity and by the bonds that unite us across difference. In moments of sorrow as well as celebration, those bonds matter deeply. Let us continue to support one another with empathy, respect, and grace.

To our Jewish students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, and to all who are observing, Happy Hanukkah. May the coming days bring moments of peace, healing, and light.

Chag Sameach!
