Volunteerism and Service-Learning

Raising Up Servant Leaders

Service is an integral part of SEU's identity. Throughout their time at SEU, students have the opportunity to participate in numerous service projects, both locally and out-of-state. Students may find themselves building housing with Habitat for Humanity, raising funds for charitable causes, or traveling to rural or urban areas on service-learning trips.

SEU students and staff in the food pantryIn recent years, SEU has:

  • Provided an estimated 29,500 hours of service
  • Raised more than $32,000 for charitable causes
  • Collected more than 2,500 pounds of food for a local food pantry
  • Worked with some 90 non-profits, schools, and social service organizations each year

Above all, engaged students grow as active, informed citizens of their communities and of the world.
