The Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology is a four-year, full-time, cohort-based program
with courses being offered in the fall, spring and summer. The curriculum consists
of 88 credits of which 15 credits of master's degree courses are accepted in transfer
and count toward the 88 credits required for the Psy.D. degree. Applicants’ transcripts
and course syllabi will be reviewed to determine the total credits accepted in transfer
and/or that need to be completed while in the doctoral program.
Although a master's level course in Group Counseling is a prerequisite to the program,
it is not accepted as a transfer course. In addition to these 15 credits in master's-level
courses, the curriculum includes 73 credits in doctoral-level coursework and supervision.

*Due to the large volume of applications and small cohort model of the program, the application process is no longer rolling. All application materials must be received by 11:59 PM EST on December 15, 2025.
Graduate GPA, personal statement, and professional experience tend to be weighted more heavily by the faculty; however, each application is considered from a holistic perspective. Selected applicants will be invited to interview with representatives of the Psy.D. faculty.
