Morristown, N.J. (November 8, 2018) – On November 2, the Saint Elizabeth University celebrated the opening of the Anastasia Health Sciences Center.

Located in Henderson Hall, the Center features a state-of-the-art Clinical Assessment Lab and Patient Evaluation Clinic, which will provide crucial interactive hands-on experience for current undergraduate and graduate nursing students, as well as students who will enter the graduate Physician Assistant program in fall 2019.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, visitors to the new facility toured the Clinical Assessment Lab, which includes a 12-bed patient simulation room, and the six fully equipped examination rooms located in the Patient Evaluation Clinic. Both spaces have video capabilities for students to observe their own interactions and receive feedback on their performance.

Demonstrations included high-fidelity computerized mannequins simulating real-life health care scenarios and the newly acquired Anatomage Table, a life-size interactive dissection table that allows students to visualize anatomy down to the cellular level.

The Center was made possible through a $5 million bequest from the estate of SEU alumna, Dr. Antoinette M. Anastasia, '51.

"Dr. Anastasia had a passion and vision for educating scientists and educators to make the world a better place," said Dr. Helen J. Streubert, president of SEU. "This is a major milestone as we expand our educational offerings in the health sciences at SEU. We are truly blessed to have an alumna who was so dedicated not only to our institution, but to training health care professionals of the future."

The ribbon to the new facility was cut by Sister Patricia Codey, S.C., Esq. '77; Dr. Streubert; Sister Rosemary Moynihan, S.C., general superior of Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth; and Gary A. Prince, Jr., Esq., partner with Mantell, Prince & Reynolds, P.C.

Students will begin using the facility in January 2019.
