SEU Eagles Take Flight with Esports

SEU's comprehensive esports program offers a friendly, competitive gaming environment that includes a newly constructed gaming facility, varsity and recreational teams.

The University also is offering a Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering with a Concentration in Game Development and Design. This program is designed to hone the skills required to develop games for multiple video game platforms such as PC, consoles, mobile, online and VR.

Esports Gaming Environment

SEU's esports arena enables students to gather in a supercharged gaming environment. There's also space for students who enjoy watching and/or playing recreationally.

The arena offers the following state-of-the-art equipment:

Joshua "Josh" Gonzalez

Josh Gonzalez in SEU eSports Arena

Josh is an avid recreational gamer who grew up playing across all consoles. When he’s not gaming, you’ll find Josh highly active around campus as Class President, math tutor, Senior Technical Assistant to the IT Department, basketball team manager, 4 year cross country captain, and tennis team captain. Despite his impressive involvement in the SEU community, his biggest accomplishment is that he remains undefeated in Mario Kart.

Walnier "Wally" Perez

B.S. Computer Software Engineering, '22

Wally Perez in SEU eSports Arena Wally, a first-generation college student from the Dominican Republic, loves the competitive aspect of the esports and sports worlds alike. In addition to Wally’s recreational gaming, he is active on the cross country and tennis teams at SEU.

Mariano Huezo in SEU eSports ArenaMariano has been a gamer for as long as he can remember, and most recently has been into fighting and competitive FPS games. Mariano’s achievements extend beyond his academic career here at SEU in the biology department; he also ranks as Diamond Level in Apex Legends.

B.S. Chemistry and Mathematics, '22

Carlos Huguet in SEU eSports Arena Carlos enjoys the social aspect of gaming and playing with his friends in between his classes in the chemistry and mathematics departments at SEU. He looks forward to the opportunity to continue his recreational gaming hobby utilizing the esports arena.
